You do not need the perfect words

Maybe you’ve been carrying it for a while.

Anxiety that won’t quiet down. A relationship that feels stuck. Grief that has nowhere to land. Or a low-grade unhappiness that is hard to name but impossible to ignore.

  • You keep finding yourself in the same patterns.
  • You are navigating identity, coming out, or a major transition.
  • You want support that feels human, practical, and honest.

You do not have to arrive with everything figured out. We can start with what is here.

Ways we can work together

Therapy shaped around what you need.

Some sessions are structured and goal-oriented. Others are slower and more exploratory. The approach flexes; close attention and honest collaboration stay constant.

“You know your life better than I do.”

A little about me

I’m Peter. I pay attention, tell the truth gently, and work at your pace.

I’m a registered psychotherapist based in Toronto. My job is to bring clinical skill, honest feedback, and genuine curiosity while leaving your choices with you.

My practice is explicitly affirming of LGBTQ+ individuals and couples. I bring an anti-oppressive lens to the room, paying attention to how systems of power, alongside personal history, shape what people carry.

Therapy works best when it feels like a real collaboration. We will build something that fits you, together.

My approach

Practical when it helps. Deeper when it matters.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Practical, structured work to notice thought patterns and behaviours that keep you stuck.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

Skills for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress, and strengthening relationships.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Slower, deeper work with the past experiences and patterns shaping your life today.

Methods are tools, not rules. The work is always shaped by what is actually going on for you.

Starting is simple

What to expect

  1. 1

    Reach out

Book a free 15-minute consultation, or send an email if you would rather ask a question first.

  2. 2

    Meet briefly

We will talk about what you are looking for, what I offer, and whether the fit feels right.

  3. 3

    Begin together

If it feels right, we will schedule a first full session, in person in Toronto or virtually in Ontario.

The hardest part is usually the first message. It does not have to be a good one. Just send it.

A few practical details.

How long are sessions, and what do they cost?

Session length, fees, and current availability are confirmed before you begin. Email Peter if you would like those details before arranging a consultation.

Where are sessions held?

Face-to-face sessions are available at my Toronto office. Secure virtual sessions are available to clients across Ontario.

Is psychotherapy covered by insurance?

Psychotherapy by a Registered Psychotherapist is not covered by OHIP, but it may be covered by your extended health benefits. I provide receipts for reimbursement.

What happens in the first full session?

We will go deeper into what brought you here and begin building a plan together. There is no pressure to have everything figured out before you arrive.

What is the cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and missed sessions may be charged the full session fee.

How can I verify registration?

Peter is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. You can verify registration through the CRPO public register.

When you are ready

Let’s start with one honest sentence.

A free 15-minute consultation is simply a chance to meet, ask questions, and notice whether the fit feels right. You do not need to prepare.

Not sure what to write?

“Hi Peter, I’m wondering if we might be a fit.”

That is enough to begin.

Please do not use email for urgent support or include sensitive clinical details. If you are in crisis, use the resources below.
